Summer in Albuquerque

Image
Penelope was my kicking partner at Taekwondo on Wednesday. That was pretty special.  In the afternoon we decided to go to the museum of natural history. Unfortunately the naturalist center was closed. That’s always a favorite part. Frank impressed me with reading the Latin names of the prehistoric creatures. The animatronic dinosaur was awesome. We had a good time.

Water Day

We started the day with some fishing. It was hot and boring so we came home around noon.  We relaxed a bit so Frank could read Harry Potter. Then it was time for water and color fun.  A day like this needs a s’more. Don’t you agree?

Fun Thursday

After a breakfast of bacon and pancakes we headed to Explora. Frank and Penelope had a great time. I love that they are old enough to be mostly independent with the activities and they understand the science that is included. We all had a good time.  After Explora the kids finished their art masterpiece and planned the big reveal.  It was a fun day.

Lots of Fun

We have had a couple of fun days. We went to the zoo today. There are things that weren’t open or are being remodeled. We still had fun. Frank wondered if taking care of peacocks and peahens would be like taking care of chickens. Here are some pictures from the zoo and their new t-shirts.

Penelope and Frank have arrived

Frank and Penelope have been here without their parents for about a day and a half. It’s been fun so far. There was plenty of chicken time, reading and hand stands in the yard. Penelope caught a lizard she called Larry and then she let him go. We also set up our calendar of events.  Today Penelope and I went to Taekwondo, Dion’s and got pedicures. Then we did the drive through and got a gallon of chocolate milk.  Frank went with Dadgum to get a Jeep truck and got to drive a forklift. He seemed to like that.

Garden so far

A little mixed greens.  Tomatoes are really growing.  We have tomatoes.  The first of the garlic.  Walking onions.  Our first pomegranate  Lots of peas this year.  Still more peas to pick.
