Painting projects

Summers with grandkids have always included painting. Frank noticed that I have lots of art supplies in the bins I get out when they come to stay. Here are some of this summer’s offerings. 


Our first paint projects were on canvas. 



We painted lots of rocks. What a fun addition to the yard and garden. 





The neighbor brought over some pots and the kids made pot people. We might plant an aloe in the top. 



We are planning on a little more painting this week.

Fruits of our Labors

Early this Spring I planted tomato and pepper seeds for this year’s garden. Then came the stay home order so we decided to do a very large garden. The best part of gardening is the harvest. I’ve got tomatoes and peas in the freezer, Anasazi and lima beans drying and cucumbers in the pickle jar. I know that harvesting tells the plant to keep producing. Our garden is in “middle age” because it’s showing a few flaws but we are still getting lots of veggies.  At this time of year I like to eat something from the garden every day. Here’s a few pictures.

Fun Thursday

 After a breakfast of bacon and pancakes we headed to Explora. Frank and Penelope had a great time. I love that they are old enough to be mostly independent with the activities and they understand the science that is included. We all had a good time.  After Explora the kids finished their art masterpiece and planned the big reveal.  It was a fun day.
